Think about it, what if you spent your time on the 20% of your customers that bring you 80% of your sales without worrying too much on the others. Wouldn't that make for a highly productive day and what about the stress relief you will experience?

The other side of this rule is that 80% of what we are doing is not bringing us the results we want. One of the best ways to manage your time and reduce stress is to keep a time log to figure out exactly where you're spending your time. You might be surprised to find that most of the time is being spent on things that aren't bringing in the results you want.

This is an excellent way to find out what's most important and spend all your time on it without worrying about the stuff that isn't bringing any results anyway.

2. Parkinson's Law

Parkinson's law states that any task will expand to fill in the time allotted for it. Which means if you set aside 1 month to complete a task, the task will begin to appear big, cause anxiety and take you 1 month to complete.

Here's how you can use this law to your advantage:

Be very careful with your time estimate, don't give tasks more time than needed. Need to write a report? Just schedule 1 day for it, the task will automatically appear to be less scary than if you had set 1 month for it.

This is an excellent way to increase your productivity and get more done in less time.

Always set challenging time limits! It helps you get stuff done faster and gives you time later to review and make sure the work is of great quality.
