Avoid affiliate links or self-serving links in the body of your article. The article's purpose is to inform.

Make the Resource Box short and concise. It should be less than 10% of the total word count of your article. Use no more than two self-serving links in the Resource Box.

Use between 250 and 500 words in your article. Under no circumstances should you use more than 700. Remember, this is an article not an eBook. If you find yourself with a long article, divide it and create a title. Add a Resource Box and you have two articles instead of one.

Only submit original articles. There is some debate as to whether you can submit the article (original written by you) to more than one publisher. It is my opinion that you are best served by submitting it to your favorite ezine and then rewriting it somewhat to submit it to others. Use a new title and do not send it to anyone else until it has been accepted by your first choice. (Mine is eZinearticles.com.)

Use things to make the article easy to read. Remember this is a fast-paced environment and people are prone to scanning. Bullet points or numbered lists make this process simple.

Become well known and respected with your particular niche. Build your credibility by writing a continual stream of quality articles.
